Catherine Tyldesley and the Co-op
We paired Coronation Street star and popular television personality Catherine Tyldesley with leading food retailers the Co-op for the brand’s Neighbour of the Year Awards. In order to promote the event, Catherine took part in a broadcast day where she appeared on a number of television and radio programmes discussing the campaign.
Due to many of us having to spend more time at home in recent years as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, British retailers Co-op discovered that around 35% of the population feel more connected to their neighbours than ever before. As well as this, they discovered that 39% of people believe they’ve spoken with their neighbours more than usual thanks to street parties, WhatsApp groups and generally checking on one another’s welfare during this period.
With this in mind, the Co-op decided to launch the Neighbour of the Year Awards, rewarding Britain’s best neighbours for the kindness and consideration they showed their neighbours during the pandemic. To promote the campaign, Evolve worked with the Co-op to source Coronation Street star and popular television personality Catherine Tyldesley.
Catherine appeared on a whole host of radio programmes and television shows during a broadcast day to promote the awards. This included features on: The One Show, Times Radio, Sky News, Smooth Radio and Classic FM.
