The pair rowed 15 hours a day from Peru to Cairns, Australia, aboard their 9-metre boat Velocity, raising nearly £100,000 for The Outward Bound Trust and breaking several world records along the way.
Before the Pacific, Jess competed in The World’s Toughest Row across the Atlantic as part of the all-female crew Full Throttle. Despite forming the team just five months before the race, they crossed to Antigua in 42 days, winning the female race class and the prestigious Murden Cup.
The Pacific crossing was marked by significant challenges. A broken rudder forced the team to restart just seven days into their first attempt, but they regrouped and successfully completed the journey on their second attempt.
