Fatima Whitbread MBE & Co-op Academies Trust

In August, Evolve partnered Olympic medallist and former world record-holding javelin thrower Fatima Whitbread MBE with Co-op Academies Trust for their New Staff Induction event. The event was held at Co-op Academy Manchester, one of the Trust’s schools, the welcomed new staff joining across 40 schools ahead of starting their new roles the following week.

Fatima delivered an inspirational talk sharing her life story and exploring the importance of social inclusion. Drawing on her personal experiences, she highlighted themes of resilience, overcoming adversity and the power of creating inclusive environments where everyone feels valued and supported. The presentation was followed by a Q&A session, giving attendees the opportunity to engage with Fatima, ask questions and reflect on the messages shared.

The session provided an inspiring start to the induction programme, encouraging new staff to consider the importance of inclusion, understanding and belonging as they prepared to begin their roles across Co-op Academies Trust’s 40 schools.
