Who is Big Zuu?
Big Zuu, also known as Zuhair Hassan, is a double-BAFTA-winning British television personality, chef, musician and entrepreneur.
What are Big Zuu’s main achievements?
Big Zuu is best known for Big Zuu’s Big Eats, his multi-award-winning UKTV cookery show that has won two BAFTAs – for Features and for Zuu himself for Best Entertainment Performance. The show, which sees Zuu and his friends travel the country cooking for comedians on tour, has also been released as a cookbook.
Big Zuu began his career as a Grime MC before joining BBC 1Xtra as a host. His television work has expanded to include ITV’s Big Zuu’s Breakfast Show and Big Zuu’s 12 Dishes in 12 Hours, which The Guardian called “the freshest, most irresistible food TV in years.” He also fronted BBC Two’s Big Zuu Goes to Mecca, a documentary following his pilgrimage to Mecca that received multiple five-star reviews and was described as “a quietly revolutionary programme.”
Beyond television, Big Zuu is co-founder of Big Productions, an entertainment label that signed a development deal with Banijay in 2023. He is also founder of Drip, a mineral water company now sold in WHSmith and Morrisons and partnered with UFC and Matchroom boxing.
