Renowned for being one of the most successful caddies in golf history, Fanny Sunesson helped Nick Faldo to unprecedented success. Born in Gothenburg, Sweden, Fanny was born into a family that was passionate about golf. In her teens, she played to an amateur standard before realising that a career as a caddie may see more success. Her first taste of caddying came at the Scandinavian Enterprise Open on the European Tour in Stockholm. Acting as caddie for the Brazilian player Jaime Gonzalez, it was the break she needed. After caddying for Howard Clark for a few years, in 1989 Fanny joined forces with Nick Faldo. It proved to be a hugely fruitful partnership, and together Nick won four Major tournaments. Fanny’s role as a caddy was invaluable to this success, and at all of her golf speaking events, she’s able to explain how she helped and her memories from this time.
Fanny left Nick at the start of the 1990s and went on to have stints with Sergio Garcia, Fred Funk and Notah Begay III before returning to Nick. Despite retiring in 2012, Fanny was hired as a caddie by Australian player Adam Scott for the 2018 Open. The following year she caddied for compatriot Henrik Stenson.
Now, she primarily works as a golfing coach and advisor, while also taking part in a variety of golf keynote speaking events across the country.
