Jamie Gane is a motivational speaker and a world-renowned adaptive athlete based in Basingstoke, UK, achieving the top ranking in global Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) and previously holding the number two spot in Judo.
What are Jamie Gane’s main achievements?
Jamie’s journey began at the age of nine when chronic pain in his right leg confined him to a wheelchair by twelve and led him to have a life-changing amputation surgery at sixteen. This decision empowered him to reclaim his mobility, walking for the first time in 14 years and soon after, embracing running. As part of his rehabilitation following surgery, he learnt how to walk with his prosthesis and now competes in Judo, Obstacle Racing and Skiing.
At a national level, Jamie achieved silver medals at both the British Judo Championships, and at his debut international Judo competition in November 2017. He also achieved a silver medal at the World Judo Games in 2019, and is currently the only lower-limb amputee in the world to compete internationally.
Jamie has conquered over 100 Tough Mudder events, including the gruelling 24-hour World’s Toughest Mudder.
