For more than a decade, Lee Hendrie played more than 400 professional games, establishing himself as a skilful winger who troubled defences wherever he went. He played for his boyhood club, Aston Villa, for 13 years where he played more than 250 games. His excellent performances saw him named ‘Young Player of the Season’ in 1998, and he received an England call-up in the same year.
He also played for the club in the 2000 FA Cup final, before going on to represent a whole host of other big clubs including Leicester City, Sheffield United and Stoke City, amongst others.
