Lembit Opik is a former British politician turned media personality.
What are Lembit Opik’s main achievements?
During his political career, Lembit was elected to the Liberal Democrats’ Federal Executive Committee in 1991, and to the Newcastle City Council in 1992. He also stood in Newcastle Central in the 1992 General Election, and in the Northumbria 1994 European Elections.
In May 1997, Lembit was elected as MP for Montgomeryshire. He was then re-elected in June 2001, and again in 2005, increasing his vote share.
