Born in France but moving to Ireland as a child, Liz was always an animal lover and following the completion of a degree in biochemistry, she went on to achieve a master’s degree in wild animal biology and conservation from the Zoological Society of London and the Royal Veterinary College. During the course of her studies, Liz spent time tracking tigers in Nepal and can discuss this experience when booked as a speaker.
In 2002 Liz began her media career, initially as a backing singer before presenting a number of entertainment programmes in both the UK and Ireland. Maintaining her interest in science and nature, from 2005 onwards she began fronting a number of TV shows in the genre. Her big break came in 2009 as the face of Bang Goes the Theory, a weekly BBC science show that covered a whole host of scientific theories and their relevance to the wider world. The show ran until 2014, but by this point, Liz had gained fame and recognition as one of the UK’s best science and nature TV presenters and has gone on to appear in documentaries and programmes covering a vast array of topics.
From following unique species found on the Galapagos islands to tackling the serious matter of plastic pollution in the ocean, Liz’s TV career has seamlessly transferred to after-dinner event speaking where she regularly appears as one of the most popular environment speakers.
