Michael Holding is a former West Indies international cricketer who went on to work as a popular cricket commentator and broadcaster. A devastating bowler, in his prime he played more than 100 matches for the West Indies and was an integral part of the nation’s Test and ODI teams. Michael is also a vocal anti-racism campaigner, whose impassioned speech on racism in society in 2020 went viral and received global praise. Born in Jamaica, he was enrolled in a cricket club from the age of three. Despite suffering from asthma, he was one of the best talents of his age and in 1975 was given his debut by the West Indies.
