Regarded as the UK’s top mountaineer and leading climber, Kenton Cool has embarked on a whole host of expeditions around the world, taking on some of the planet’s most formidable peaks. This includes reaching the summit of Mount Everest a staggering 16 times and becoming the first person in history to climb Nuptse, Everest and Lhotse in a single push without returning to base camp.

Introduced to mountaineering as a child in the Scouts, it was at Leeds University where he really became passionate about the activity. He regularly embarked on a number of mountain climbing events in the UK, before looking further afield.
In 2004, he met another legendary British climber Sir Ranulph Fiennes and together the pair would embark on a number of iconic expeditions together. This included summiting Everest with Fiennes in 2009 – making Kenton the most successful British expedition leader in the history of the world’s biggest peak.
Other career highlights from Kenton include completing the Everest Triple Crown, becoming the first British person to ski descent the sixth highest mountain in the world Cho Oyu and completing more than 20 successful expeditions of the Greater Ranges. In recent years has appeared on a number of television programmes for ITV, BBC and the Discovery Channel documenting his mountaineering expeditions. This tally means he’s the only non-Sherpa in history to climb the mountain this many times.
