After a decade as Headteacher at St Benet Biscop Catholic High School, where he received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise Promotion, Nick became Principal Designate and then Principal of Horizon, rebuilding a fractured community, retaining and recruiting talent, and raising aspirations and outcomes for young people.
As Executive Principal, Nick led the Barnsley Schools Alliance on school improvement across the borough and helped Horizon become part of a highly successful academy trust, HCAT. A long-standing Headteacher Ambassador for organisations including the Youth Sport Trust, the Women’s FA and the Careers & Enterprise Company, he is known for his powerful storytelling and his focus on authentic leadership, empowerment, accountability and the “power of belonging” in workplace culture.
