Andy Wyatt is a former Red Arrows pilot, airline executive, and adventurer.
What are Andy Wyatt’s main achievements?
After joining the RAF at 18, Andy has gone on to achieve over 20,000 hours on numerous types of aircraft. He was also a member of the world’s only formation aerobatic ‘wing-walking’ display team.
Andy completed over 300 displays during his time with the Royal Air Force aerobatic team and was a member of the lite synchro pair. In 1992, he was awarded the Queen’s commendation for valuable services and was promoted to squadron, where he continued to fly the Hawk as a qualified weapons instructor.
What is Andy Wyatt best known for?
Andy is best known for his early career, where he was selected to fly the iconic English Electric Lightning. This carried out the interception of Russian aircrafts during the height of the Cold War.
Since leaving the RAF, Andy is now best known for flying commercially as a Boeing 747 captain. Additionally he helped to form a cargo airline during the Covid-19 pandemic to deliver PPE and vaccines around the world.
